Cirrhosis is an illness that affects the liver condition in which there is an irreversible scarring of the liver. It is a progressive disease that develops gradually over many years, until it can stop the proper function of the liver. It is now the result when healthy liver tissue is destroyed and replaced by scar tissue as the condition starts to be serious, it can start blocking the flow of the blood through the liver.
The main causes of the cirrhosis are sustained excessive alcohol consumption, viral Hepatitis B and C, fatty liver diseases – however, there are more possible causes. People who are affected with this disease may also develop jaundice (yellowing of the skin, eyes and tongue), itching and extreme tiredness.
