Medication and treatment to reduce the recurrence of the Hepatitis B appear to improve liver transplant outcomes for some patients.
Ray Kim, the senior investigator of the Mayo Clinic research team said that they have found out that the number of Hepa B patients who were listed for a second transplant within three years decreased by 50% between 1996 and 2005.
The infection of Hepa B is one of the major causes of liver damage that can eventually lead to end-stage liver disease and urge to need for a transplant in the liver.
